Join REC in changing the way universities invest

Make a contribution and become a REC member!

Collectively, schools hold $350 billion in their endowment investments (NACUBO 2011), and $420 billion in higher education spending is passed through banks every year (Digest of Education Statistics, 2010). Students and faculty are realizing that their schools are invested in major coal burning companies, hedge funds with complicated and risky derivatives, and in the banks that caused the financial crisis. They want to leverage those relationships.

These students are looking to REC to understand next steps and to have the most impact.

In the spring of 2011, REC worked with students to move $1 million into their local communities at Tufts and Fordham, and is supporting students on 17 new campuses to make more and larger community investments. We need you to help us support these students’ energy to create better, more accountable universities for themselves and their community. Join us to help meet students’ demands for a more fair, equitable society!
