Mission
Support and build a powerful, educated, organized, unified student movement, with alumni, faculty, staff, and community allies, that challenges the wealth-hoarding, corporatized university, and fights for People’s Universities. This movement organizes in the interests its own sector, and coordinates with and builds alongside people’s and workers’ movements around the world. This work supports campaigns that challenge university wealth hoarding (endowments, landlordism, excessive executive compensation, commercialization of sports, commercialization of research) and university complicity in U.S. economic imperialism. This work fights for Education for the People (Board control, free tuition/government spending/endowment spending, debt relief, etc), and is embedded in larger struggles for an economy that serves the people, instead of the profit of a few.
