We know you’re committed to social justice and to ensuring the next generation is well prepared to take on the tremendous challenges of our era. At REC, we know that leadership skills must be actively nurtured and developed in our youth, and thus we work not only to change the way colleges and universities address their social and environmental impacts, but also to provide the next generation of activists with the tools of responsible investment to help them to be as effective leaders as possible. Our Student Organizer program gives students an opportunity to learn in-depth about responsible investment and cultivate leadership skills in an intensive program. Working closely with REC staff, Student Organizers create resources for fellow students, meet leaders in the field to learn about the industry, and gain valuable trainings from experienced activists. We are proud of the diversity of students who have participated, and pay them a generous stipend to ensure that students from all class backgrounds can participate. During the summer, students attend an intensive week-long training program in New England to prepare for their work. During the school year student organizers continue to work with REC to run campaigns on thier campuses, and connect to and support work on neighboring campuses. REC thanks the following for supporting the Student Organizer Program:
