Over $ 150 billion is managed by REC member schools—giving our coalition tremendous potential to speak in a collective voice and challenge corporate behavior. To this end, each year REC members focus their shareholder activism on several companies with particularly poor social and environmental records. If you work with a college or university on their proxy voting, or file resolutions in need of support, please contact us to get involved. In 2009, REC schools focused on resolutions at Chevron, Exxon, Citigroup, Wells Fargo and Pepsi, and in particular featuring a resolution co-filed by Loyola University of Chicago at Chevron on human rights, and a resolution filed by Bard College at McDonalds. Read more here to learn about Bard's success this year at changing the company's policy in pesticides!  |
